Another large gathering of members and guests enjoyed our Marine Corps Recognition Luncheon on 13 November. SSgt. Willie Richardson was aboard to be honored as the Marine Recruiter of the Year. He was joined by his beautiful bride Lasitter, who one might suspect was on hand to accept the check that goes with the award! Fellow Recruiter SSgt. Boseman, Midshipmen from NROTC (one a soon to be commissioned Officer of Marines) also joined us.
We were all honored by a presentation by Marine CAPT Dean Krom and GySgt Joseph Adcox. USMC. They are the new Marines attached to the ERAU NROTC. They briefed us on their distinguished careers, and played an inspiring video of the Marine Corps Birthday Message from the Commandant and Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps. GySgt Adcox will try and establish communications for our Council with a combat deployed Marine Unit, and it is hoped we can provide morale and physical support (care packages, etc.) to the Marine Warriors in that Unit. Thank you and Well Done, Marines for your continuing service and providing us with a great program.
Please mark the date: On Saturday evening, 20 March 2010, we will have an Iwo Jima Victory Dinner/Dance to honor all Marines and Navy Corpsmen, past and present.
