Several of our members were in attendance at the adoption ceremony for USS Hue City CG 66 by the St. Augustine Council on 8 October aboard NS Mayport.  Hue City is the only Navy Ship named after a Viet Nam war battle.  Appropriately, the United States Marine Band, Albany, GA provided musical support, and numerous formerly active duty Marines and members of the Marine Corps League attended.  The battle was a decisive victory in keeping with the finest traditions and history of the Corps.  2,500 Marines were outnumbered by an 11.500 NVA and Viet Cong force.

Last photo is of our own USS Carney DDG 64.

Hue City is the third adopted Ship for St. Augustine.  Council President Ted Turowski presided over the ceremony and presented the first Blue Jacket of the Quarter award.  Well Done! St. Augustine, anf thank you for a great Marine and Navy Day.
