78 members and Military guests enjoyed a talk by BMCS Michael Jensen, USCG, who recently assumed command of USCG Station Ponce Inlet at our 18 September luncheon at HRYC..
Senior Chief will be added to our list of "back by popular demand" guest speakers. Thank you Senior Chief, and we welcome you and your family to Volusia County.
We were also honored by additional Coast Guard guests. Officers and Crew from USS Carney DDG 64 (THE Best Ship in the Navy!) and Battalion Commander Brandon Porthouse and Midshipmen from ERAU NROTC.
CDR John Byington, son of Harriet and By, was among the record number of Individual Augmentees at the 05 November Welcome Home luncheon sponsored by the Navy League aboard NAS JAX. Over 300 IA's, spouses and guests attended, including a large contingent from our Council.
CDR Byington will be our guest speaker for the 22 January luncheon, and will speak about his IA experiences in Iraq.
We regret the photo of CDR Byington receiving his plaque from Florida Region NL President Bill Dudley and CAPT Jack Scorby, CO of NAS is out of focus.
